Our Story

Founded in 1729 by William Burges (first pastor) and Paul Palmer (founder), Shiloh Baptist Church
is the oldest Baptist church in North Carolina.

Through the years, the church has marked historic milestones, including ordaining its first woman deacon, Earline Revelle, in 1990, expanding facilities in the 1990s, and creating a playground for children in 1994.

In 2000, worship moved to a relaxed, blended style—combining traditional hymns with contemporary worship—while remaining committed to spreading the love of Christ in our community.
